Shortening days

Little by little
the hanging basket and flowerpot displays outside
have drowned or are giving-up on the lost summer.

So, once again, the indoors beckons
with flowers and candles.

A little rose made of concrete
reminds me of  June roses.
I love these Scandinavian minimalist candle holders
called Kivi,
designed by Heikki Orvola
and made at the Finnish glass works Iittala.

Crowns give me a fairytale feeling:
there's almost something
theatrical about them.

I haven't decided what to do with this heavy, iron
so, it is just resting a while here.

  3. What beautiful displays - you have given me so much inspiration. x

  4. The crowns and the cyclamen are absolutely gorgeous and yet again, I love the contrast with my life here. It's been scorching hot today and the streets seem busy and more Spanish than ever - so the cool, calmness of your blog is delicious. Thank you! Axx

  5. the crowns are lovely...such an interesting profile....

  6. Hi Anna I love the simplicity of your styling and the clarity of your photographs - what a joy they are. Really inspiring. Francesca

  7. Ciao Anna :)
Your crowns collection is gorgeous! And I like very much your idea of using a crown like a sort of cage for your plants!

  8. I like the way you have grouped the neutral coloured objects together and the way you have planted greenery in the birdbath. Lovely photos Anna!

  9. Such beautiful photographs and simply gorgeous styling, thank you for your lovely comments on my blog x

  10. So very stylish, all of it. I love your taste.

  11. So tasteful. Thanks for the soothing post. Would love to have that little leaved plant I see in all the Nordic blogs...haven't come across it in the US yet.

Thanks so much for your kind comment on my blog!

  12. Thank you for the name, Anna. I'm following your blog.

  13. Hello Ann
What a charming blog you have. I have just put the link in to the paper sculptures article. I think I blogged to early this morning and forgot to put it in :)

  14. Hi Anna, beautiful photos. I love your containers and your wonderful crown collection, and of course your beautiful glass tealight holders. I love the black, white and grey shades. I love crowns too, I embroidered some onto tea-towels and I love the way they look. Many thanks for your visit. I hope you are inspired to make something. Have a wonderful weekend, love Linda x

  17. beautiful desplays Anna, and lovely cool colours.

  18. Hello Anna,
Simply beautiful photos, I love the collage ones. I know what you mean, things are pretty drowned and wind burnt here too. I have just one crown, I wish I'd bought more now as they look so nice grouped together.
The chunky blue Kivi are gorgeous, so much nicer than any I have seen here which are usually quite thin.
Have a lovely weekend, hope the sun shines for us both! x

  19. I really love those crowns too. They look so rustic but somehow so classy at the same time - especially the way you've styled them. Gorgeous!
