Books Books Books

We are book-lovers in The Doll House, books ancient and modern:
literature, history, design, architecture, poetry, topography,  philosophy, politics, cookery, art, crafts, antiques, biography, gardening...............When we're out and about every antiquarian, second-hand or high street  book shop draws us inside.

Consequently, finding storage for the books is an ongoing activity.  They are to be found in almost every room of the house, including, of course, the attic.  In the living room, however  I have decided to hide them behind curtained glass cupboards.  People seem to either love or hate this solution.

I am quite happy with this way of presenting a calm exterior while hiding the interior chaos.

  1. Hello Anna:
We cannot believe for one moment that chaos rules behind those curtained glass doors!

Books are, indeed, one of life's essentials and we, like you, have them everywhere: in bookcases, on tables, on shelves, stacked on chairs, stored in baskets...always, in our view, a decorative feature in their own right.

  2. Dear Jane and Lance

Thank you so much for your generous comments to my two latest postings and your warm welcome to a new follower of your blog.
I appreciate your vote of confidence, however, who knows what goes on behind closed doors!
